WAY TO GO Varsity Boys Placing 2nd in Region, Girls 4th, Both Earning a Place in the State Meet, Saturday, November 5, Carrollton, GA - Congratulations to Teams and Coaches

Congratulations to our boys varsity who placed 2nd in the Region and the varsity girls who placed 4th. Molly Schenck won the girls race and earned the honor of Region Champ. Justin Howell placed 3rd, Kyle Rose 8th, and Muhammad Elosta 10th. Johnny Sexton took first in the boys open race.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 - Region 5AAAA Finals, Clinton Farms, Douglas County Parents/Supporters Bring a Favorite Snack of Your Athletes to Share with Parents and Runners at Conclusion of Meet

Mark your calendar and plan to attend and show your support for our athletes as they run the final regular season meet of the season, Saturday, October 29, 2011, Clinton Farms, Douglas County, 8:00 AM.

Following tradition, we are asking parents/athletes to bring the athlete's favorite snack to share with parents and runners at conclusion of the Region Meet. A favorite snack might be fruit-on-a-stick, brownies, cookies, sandwiches or a unique blend of flavors that is a tradition in your household. Our athletes look forward to this tradition so we hope all parents/supporters will join in.

Our varsity girls show excitement about celebrating with their favorite snacks after the Region meet!

Saturday, October 8 - Cobb County Cross Country Championships - Acworth, GA

Saturday afternoon in Cobb County was an exciting one as the Hounds competed in the 2011 County Championships. The boys team, led by Patrick Fleming's 2nd Place finish, took home the runner up trophy. Many strong performances were shown by all the athletes! Molly Schenck took 4th place while leading the team to a 7th place finish.

Two School Records Broken at Westover Invitational, Many Personal Records Set and Varsity Boys Bring Home 1st Place Trophy

On a cool and crisp autumn Saturday morning in Albany, GA many outstanding running records were set and our Varsity Boys brought home the 1st place trophy. Patrick Fleming won the varsity race and broke the Pope XC school with a time of 15:18:82. Molly Schenck ran a personal best and also broke the course and her school record running an 18:02:73, placing 2nd. Justin Howell placed 8th with a time of 16:01:50, followed by Kyle Rose 16:08:74. JV runners placing in the top 10 included Vincent Philippe and Aaron Kooris. Congratulations to all runners on your top performances of the season.

Blessed Trinity's "Clash of the Titans" Invitational: Varsity Boys 1st, Girls 2nd, JV Boys 1st!

It was a winning day for the teams on the hilly course at Blessed Trinity. Varsity boys placed 1st with Justin Howell sprinting in the final meters to win the race, followed by Kyle Rose in 6th. JV boys runners, Davis Glover and Samuel Skinner, scored 1st and 2nd bringing home the first place trophy for their team. Congratulations also goes to the Varsity girls who brought home the 2nd place trophy with Morgan Laushey placing in the top 10.

3rd Milton XC Invite "Run for the Eagle Cup Pope Places 2nd

Great Job today HOUNDS! 

All teams performed well to ensure a 2ND Place Eagle Cup finish! Combined scores from Boys Varsity, Girls Varsity, Boys JV and Girls JV to create an overall school total!

BOYS VARSITY WINS COVERED BRIDGE!! LED BY PATRICK FLEMING IN 16:28 AND WITH 4 TEAMMATES IN THE TOP 10 THEY BRING HOME THE TROPHY! GIRLS VARSITY PLACED 6TH LED BY JAMI JOYNER WHO RAN A 19:53 BREAKING THE 20:00 BARRIER! GREAT JOB HOUNDS!

Berry Invitational - The Clara Bowl Sat, Sept 3, 2011

Great job Hounds! Wonderful performances by the Varsity teams at Berry! The teams were led by Patrick Fleming and Molly Schenck, placing 6th and 4th against a very highly ranked group of runners.

Bob Blastow Early Bird Meet Results

What a start to the XC season, Saturday, August 27. Pope fielded a large team of athletes at the Bob Blastow Early Bird Invitational and gained attention with the performance of numerous athletes. Our new athletes gained experience running with highly competitive athletes from 40 schools.

Patrick Fleming ran a PR of 15:43 placing 3rd in varisty boys, Molly Schenck placed 1st in varsity girls with a time of 18:14, setting a PR and a new school record. Congratulations to both of these athletes on their performances. Team results: varisty Boys - 6th, varsity girls 11th, JV boys 4th and JV girls 10th,
