11/9 GHSA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to our varsity teams who competed with Georgia's best AAAAA runners in Carrollton! The Varsity Girls finished 10th overall and the Varsity Boys who finished 15th overall out of over 30 teams.

Ashley Kehoe earned a medal and a spot on the podium with a 3rd place finish, and Carlos Quintana led the boys with a top 25 finish.

10/26: CARROLLTON LAST CHANCE INVITATIONAL   

Congratulations to all the athletes who competed in the tough and hilly state championship course! 

The Varsity Girls were the top AAAAA school, finishing 3rd overall in their race! Led once again by race winner Ashley Kehoe, Pope's five scoring runners finished in the top 40: Brittany Powell (15th), Heather Thornton (31st), Kristin Sheaffer (35th), & Grace Regitz (39th).

The Varsity Boys placed 8th overall, led by a top 30 finish for Josef Schuster.

JV Boys finished in 7th place, with Xavier Rodriguez finishing in the top 30.

Congratulations to Ashley Kehoe, who won the Varsity Girls Race! Brittany Powell finished 15th, and the Varsity Girls placed 5th overall out of 25 teams!

Carlos Quintana placed 22nd, leading the Varsity Boys to a 13th place overall out of 27 teams.

In the JV-B Girls race, the Pope girls finished 2nd overall! Congratulations to Darden Hearn (5th place), Tessa Bradbury (8th place), Renee Szall (9th place), Shannon Duffy (10th place), Jen Lyons (14th place), and Molly McDonough (21st place).

The JV-B Boys race had four Pope athletes in the top 30: Dalton Rogers (4th place), Mitchell Mazzoni (13th place), Grant MacNeil (21st place), and Paul Lyons (26th place). Pope finished in 4th place overall out of 15 teams.

The Pope JV-C Girls finished in 14th place overall out of 23 teams, with all the Pope girls placing in the top 160 of the 414 runners.

The JV-C Boys race was the largest of the day, with 487 runners! All the Pope boys finished in the top 300, placing 16th overall out of 24 teams.

10/5: COBB COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

Congratulations to Cobb County Champion Ashley Kehoe!

Ashley's 1st place finish, along with Brittany Powell finishing 20th and Grace Regitz placing 24th, made the Varsity Girls the top 5A team, with a 4th place finish overall.

The JV Girls placed 2nd overall, with four runners in the top 30: Emma Kopkowski (15th), Kayla Welte (24th), Darden Hearn (28th), and Dyan Szall (29th). 

The Varsity Boys finished 7th overall, led by Carlos Quintana, who placed 25th.

JV Boys finished in 5th place, with Sam Borel placing 10th overall and Xavier Rodriguez placing 21st.

9/28: ATLANTA CLASSIC

TEAM RESULTS 

Congratulations to Darden Hearn and Jordan Smith for their top 20 finishes in the JV Girls Race! 

FURMAN CLASSIC, 9/13-9/14 GREENVILLE, SC

Congratulations to all the Pope athletes who traveled to the Furman campus for the 2013 team trip!

The Varsity Girls finished in 6th place overall, led by several PR races, including Ashley Kehoe, who ran 18:45 to finish in 6th place, Brittany Powell, who finished 28th with a 20:39, and Grace Regitz, who ran 20:54 to finish in 33rd place.  

Varsity Boys were 6th overall, with Carlos Quintana placing 22nd. Jarrod Howell was 29th, Josef Schuster was 32nd, and Jacob Greer finished in 33rd place. 

JV Boys were 4th overall, led by Mitchell Mazzoni's 14th place finish. Grant MacNeil finished in 31st place.

Renee Szall finished 24th in the JV Girls race (Pope did not send enough runners to field a full team).

MARIST DOUBLE DIP: SAT, 9/7

Almost 30 teams participated on a sunny morning at the Marist School for the 16th annual Double Dip Races. 

Congratulations to Ashley Kehoe for another 3rd place finish in the Varsity Girls race. The Varsity Girls placed 9th overall. Carlos Quintana led the Varsity Boys with a top 25 finish. The Varsity Boys also placed 9th overall. Cole Lauff ran to an 8th place finish and Jacob Greer finished in the top 25 to lead the JV Boys to a 5th place team finish. The JV Girls finished in 6th place overall.  

Pope Team Results

Varsity Girls finished 11th overall and Varsity Boys finished 19th overall in a field of more than 30 5A and 6A schools. Congratulations to Ashley Kehoe who placed 5th in a race with over 300 athletes!

Congratulations to all Pope runners! Varsity Boys finished 6th overall, led by Carlos Quintana, who placed 16th. Varsity Girls also finished 6th overall, with Ashley Kehoe taking 2nd place. JV Boys took 3rd place overall, led by a 2nd place finish by Matt Kraska. JV Girls also finished in 3rd place, with Heather Giles leading the way with a 4th place finish. Tessa Bradbury and Darden Hearn also had top 20 finishes in the JV race.
